Tinubu commiserates with Wike over stampede

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has commiserated with families of victims of Saturday’s stampede at a church programme at Polo Club, Port Harcourt, Rivers State during which over 30 persons were killed.

The APC leader also condoled Governor Nyesom Wike and the people of Rivers State over the incident.  

In a May 29 letter to the governor, which he personally signed, Tinubu described the incident as a “devastating and unfortunate disaster.”

“My thoughts and prayers are with the families of all those who sadly lost their lives and with the innocent survivors now forced to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of this terrible incident,” he said.  

The former Lagos State governor while commending the police command and the state emergency management agencies for their quick responses prayed for the wisdom necessary to implement measures, policies and guidelines to prevent a recurrence of such event.
