Representative Olaide Adewale Akinremi, the Member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency of Oyo State, has died at the age of 51 after a brief illness.
Before his death, he served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Science Research Institutions.
Prince Akinremi is survived by his wife, Mrs Adama Akinremi, and five children.
President Bola Tinubu commiserated with the family of the late lawmaker, members of the National Assembly, friends, and associates of the deceased over the loss.

In a statement by his spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President also commiserated with members of the National Assembly, friends, and associates of the deceased over the loss.
“The president prays for the repose of the soul of the departed and strength to his family at this difficult time,” presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said in a statement.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajuddeen, and his Deputy, Benjamin Kalu, expressed profound sorrow over the death of the lawmaker who died early Wednesday.
Before adjourning plenary yesterday, Speaker Abbas said Prince Akinremi’s devotion to public service was exemplary whose legacy of service, compassion, and leadership will continue to inspire lawmakers.
Similarly, in a message signed by his Special Assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, the deputy speaker said the late lawmaker contributed to nation-building through legislative interventions and policies.
House spokesman, Akin Rotimi Jr, also expressed condolences on behalf of all members, describing Akinremi as a distinguished and ranking member of the 10th Assembly.
Also, the Senate on Wednesday suspended its sitting to Thursday in honour of the late Akinremi.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, who announced the death of the lawmaker, commiserated with the family members.
