The management of West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has bowed to concerns of Muslim students to amend the November/ December 2015 examinations timetable for private candidates.
Head of National office of WAEC, Mr. Charles Eguridu stated this at a meeting with journalists in Abuja.
Eguride said recently Muslims had expressed concern on the timetable because some papers were scheduled between 2pm and 4pm and some before the end of Friday prayers.
According to him, WAEC is supposed to have an examination on September 25 which has been declared Eid Kabir holiday so the examination for that day is reschedule for October 3.
Eguridu noted that WAEC is not unconscious to the yearnings and aspirations of the people and so will continue to do their best to ensure that they deliver what was within their mandate to the candidates.
WAEC said the examination for today (Government) has been shifted to 2.30 – 5.30pm as against 2.00 pm earlier scheduled, while Further Mathematics for September 25 has been postponed to October 10 from 9.30am to 4.30pm for paper one and two.
Also for Basic Electricity for October 2, it would take place from 3pm – 5pm instead of 2.00pm- 4pm while French scheduled for October 9 for 2pm -4.15pm would be held from 3.15pm-5:15pm.
