Time to end Boko Haram’s attack on power installations

Electricity is one of the most important blessings that Almighty God has given to mankind. It has also become a part of modern life and one cannot think of a world without it. Electricity has many uses in our day-to-day life. In factories, schools, large machines are worked with the help of electricity. Essential items like food, cloth, paper and many other things are the product of electricity.

Borno State has been without electricity for almost two months after the destruction of electric towers in the state by the insurgents Boko Haram. After staying for a long time in total darkness electricity was restored on 24th March 2021.

People in the state celebrated the restoration of electricity with wild jubilations. However, their joy was short-lived as Boko Haram insurgents once again, blew off another set of towers throwing the city into another total blackout. This came just two days after the restoration of light.

It is high time for the federal and state government to wage war and end this destruction of these towers by the insurgents.

People are in dire need of the government’s urgent intervention in view of the impending Ramadan fasting and the hot weather being experienced.

Students of the University of Maiduguri are additionally affected because of the forthcoming end-of-session exams. Many fear that this will affect their performance.

May Almighty God bring an end to all insurgencies and restore peace in all part of Nigeria.
