Timaya: Why I can’t date a Nigerian

Ace music artiste, Inetimi Alfred Timaya Odon, aka Timaya, has likened romantic relationships with Nigerian ladies to thieves and police.

This is as the singer said he cannot date a Nigerian girl despite his three baby mamas being Nigerians.

According to him, if he were a Nigerian girl, he would not date a Nigerian man.

He spoke in a recent interview with Beat FM.

“I do not have a problem with Nigerian girls. If I am a Nigerian girl, I will not date a Nigerian man.

“I can’t date a Nigerian lady because we have the same foundation; the same upbringing. The relationship will be like police and thieves. It will be too toxic. We go dey lie for each other too much. We won’t even have peace,” he said in a combination of English and pidgin.

Daily Trust reports that in June 2022 via a post on X, he hinted that he may never walk down the aisle with anyone.

“JESUS never got married. I’m Christ-like,” the dancehall singer and songwriter wrote.

Timaya has four children; Emma, Gracey, Emmanuel, and Maya from three relationships.

His first baby mama and mother of Emma and Gracey is his ex-girlfriend, Barbara Nwokolo, a graduate of the Benson Idahosa University, whom he dated earlier in his career.

His second baby mama is Tamar, an interior decorator, whom he dated for a while and spoilt with expensive gifts after she gave birth to his son in 2018.

The singer’s third baby mama is an American-based artist, Dunnie.
