The ‘Open Mic’ event by Tiki Cultures, which is an initiative of Adenike Isi Adeeko a.k.a Dadashnami, has been running for over two years in Abuja every Sunday, has become a home for creatives, especially in Abuja and the Northern region.

The event brings together entertainment and food lovers in one space, making it one of the most anticipated events for creatives and guests alike.

The latest edition held on Sunday, 28th of March, 2021 and it was no different in terms of its offering; live music, comedy and karaoke.

It was hosted by resident DJ, DJ Avatar.

Guests took turns to render their favourite songs in an atmosphere of love and laughter.

The ambience of Tiki Cultures also helped set a relaxed mood for the event.

Speaking at the event, Adesua Kella of AdesuaPr, Public Relations Officer of Tiki Cultures, disclosed that the event is a platform for creatives and customers to own the mic and showcase their talents.

“We give opportunities to Abuja-based upcoming artists in music, poetry, comedy etc to come to showcase their talents.

“The event also welcomes guests participation, because guests are allowed to request and perform songs,” he said.

“This is more like a company to customer relationship, customer to customer relationship. It is not every place in Abuja that gives this opportunity.

“One interesting part about ‘Open Mic’ Sundays is that we always have celebrities who come to perform. Last two weeks, we had MC Lively.”

Although no popular celebrity graced this edition, previous editions have featured the likes of Bella Shmurda, Bad Boy Timz and DNA to name a few.

The ‘Open Mic’ by Tiki Cultures continues to have a great impact on the creatives in Abuja as it continues to give a platform for creatives; singers, scriptwriters, photographers, magicians, make-up artists, cinematographers, actors, dancers and fashion designers.
