Some hoodlums have set ablaze a house used as a meeting hall, reading centre and store for the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) situated at Dorayi Babba, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State.
The leader of the centre, Dr Sulaiman Gambo, disclosed this during a press conference in Kano.

He said the miscreants scaled through the perimeter fence of the building and burnt the meeting hall and stores with property worth N3 million destroyed.
“We have reported the incident to the DPO of Dorayi Babba Station and he came in person together with his officers to assess the situation. We have written a formal complaint of threats to our lives and property to the Commissioner of Police,” he said.
Gambo said their members had earlier been attacked on August 2, 2022 during a programme by some youths who injured five of them and burnt their car.
He appealed to concerned authorities to fish out the perpetrators of heinous acts who were bent on denying Shia members their rights of worship.
When contacted, the police spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said he had yet to receive a report of the attack but promised to investigate and take proper action.
Kiyawa called on residents to embrace peace and respect each other’s religion.
