Suspected political thugs, on Tuesday, attacked members All Progressives Congress (APC) who are supporters of the Minister of Interior, Mr Rauf Aregbesola.
They were attacked at a political meeting in Ikirun.

The APC members, who belong to The Osun Progressive caucus, were holding the meeting at an open ground beside the Ifelodun Local Government Council Secretariat when the thugs attacked them.
Commenting on the incident, the State Secretary of the TOP faction of APC, Mr Adelani Baderinwa, said, “We were holding our Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency meeting. These hoodlums, numbering about 25 came from inside the Local Government Secretariat, they started chasing our people.
“The hoodlums came from behind, shooting into the air and attempted to unleash machete cut on members of the party.”
The Commissioner for Information in the state, Mrs Funke Egbemode, while reacting to the incident said Governor Adegboyega Oyetola-led government remain committed to the security of lives and properties from actual and potential threats and appealed to APC members and all people of the state to be peaceful and law abiding.
