Three killed in renewed cult clash in Edo

Three members of a rival cult group have been killed in Benin by suspected cultists on Tuesday night.

It was gathered that the killings took place in Ogida and Uwelu axis of Benin, the Edo State capital.

It was further gathered that two were killed closed to Ogida Market and Igbinaduwa junction while the third victim was killed along Uwelu road by former Texaco Petrol Station.

It was also learnt that one of the victims, a commercial bus driver, was trailed and killed at Ogida market, shortly before the commencement of the dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed by the state government in the state to halt Coronavirus (COVID-19) spread.

The remains of the victims were said to have been evacuated by the police.

It would be recalled that early this month two persons were killed in two separate locations along Benin Technical College (BTC) Road and Universal junction along Medical Stores road in Benin in a cult clash.

When contacted, the state police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwanbuzor, said he is in a meeting and would call back.
