Three injured as ”soldiers” storm Shiite leader house in Katsina

A midnight raid purportedly carried by armed security operatives allegedly believed to be soldiers at the residence of the leader of Islamic Movement of Nigeria popular known as Shiite in Katsina Sheikh Yakubu Yahaya has left three persons in critical condition.

Confirming the attack, Sheikh Yahaya told newsmen on Thursday that armed ‘soldiers’ stormed the house were they met members and used sticks to attacked them leaving many injured with three of them in critical conditions.

He said, one Malam Isa had a broken jaw, the other lost two of his teeth while other had an x-ray to determine the extent of his broken arm.

According to him, it is unusual the way they stormed the area alleging that one of the soldiers was reported to have said ‘ Sir Na them shoot them’

For the past four days soldiers have been terrorising people in the state especially those along major roads but what surprises us was the storming of our area that was off the road in a community that we have been living peacefully for the past 11 years, he added

When contacted the police public relation officer, the office allowed to speak to press on security issues in the state,DSP Isa Gambo promised to make enquiries and get across but never did till the time of filing in the report.

However, a statement issued by Ibrahim Musa, the Head of Media forum of IMN said,"We believe this is not an isolated incident since earlier in the week, some armed soldiers invaded another IMN centre in Jos, Plateau state, in the same manner,
though in broad daylight.

"Our Islamic centre in Sokoto was also subjected to the same intimidation by armed soldiers a week earlier. What is common to all these places is that the attacks are simply being carried out by the security operatives for no reason".
