Three students of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) have been kidnapped from their off-campus residence around Gidan Block, Kadangaru Quarters, Daily Trust gathered yesterday.
Others sources however said they were picked up around the state Radio/TV transmitter along Katsina/Dutsinma road. The names of the students were not readily available at press time but sources said they are from Benue State.
The spokesman of the Katsina police command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the kidnap, saying efforts were on to rescue them, but the spokesman of the university, Habibu Matazu, said as far as the university was concerned, none of its students was kidnapped as all students were believed to have gone home following the ASUU strike.
Similarly, Zainab Hussaini, a dental technician on industrial attachment at the Dutsinma General hospital was reported to have been kidnapped Wednesday night. Zainab, a daughter of Hussaini Maitsani, the PDP chairman in the council, was kidnapped at Maitsani village along Dutsinama-Tsaskiya road in Malumfashi.
