Three brothers nabbed for armed robbery in Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested four suspected armed robbers who have been allegedly terrorising the Ijebu-Ode area of the state.

The suspects included three brothers: Hammed, Idris, and Tobi Jagbojagbo as well as one other, Tosin Ogundeko.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this to journalists in Abeokuta on Monday.

He said the suspects were arrested following a distress call received at Igbeba Divisional Headquarters.

According to Oyeyemi, the suspects were responsible for carrying out a series of robbery operations in Ijebu-Ode.

Oyeyemi said, the suspects had invaded the shop of a Premier Lotto agent in Odi-Olowo area of Ijebu Ode and robbed the agent of N90,000.

He added that the suspects also snatched a Bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Clement Conleth.

“Upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga, quickly led his patrol team to the scene, gave the robbers a hot chase and succeeded in arresting one of them, Tosin Ogundeko, from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered.

“The arrested Tosin Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State, where the remaining three were apprehended, while one of them simply identified as Tosin a.k.a socket escaped.

“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to being responsible for various motorcycle snatching operations in Ijebu-Ode and its environs.
They confessed further that they were all based in Epe, but chose Ijebu-Ode as their area of operation,” Oyeyemi said.

According to the PPRO, one cut to size locally made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle was recovered from the suspects.
