President of the Northern Youth Coalition, Comrade Muktar Muhammad, has described the recent calls by South West groups for the creation of Oduduwa Republic as a political agenda for 2023.
Comrade Muhammad, who spoke in Kaduna on Sunday while fielding questions from journalists, said the threat coming from the agitators was a move to secure political relevance for the region come 2023.
He said the groups should have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for making critical appointments and providing infrastructure that benefitted the South West geo-political zone.
“We will like to advise them that such empty threats will never give them the presidency or any relevance because the unity of this country is sacrosanct. They should allow Nigerians to choose the next president that will move the country forward irrespective of the region or zone he comes from.
“We the Coalition of Northern youths are not threatened and cannot be threatened by their threat. This country will remain one entity called Nigeria until when God decides otherwise. So, enough of this empty threat,” Comrade Muhammad said.
He said all peace-loving Nigerians would continue to offer their support to the present leadership of President Buhari which is committed to uniting the country irrespective of tribe, region or religious affiliations.
