Those who burnt police station must be prosecuted — CP

Imo State Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Muhammed, has said those who razed the Ihitte/Uboma LGA Divisional Police headquarters will face the full wrath of the law.

Irate youths had burnt the police station, including the LG secretariat, magistrate and high courts all in Ishinweke town following  the killing of a young man by a police officer.

The CP who spoke on Wednesday when he visited the area, said ‘two wrongs cannot make a right.”

Though he condemned the alleged killing of Chinanu Okonkwo, 32, Muhammed, said those who set the public facilities ablaze would be prosecuted.

He asked youths to always subject themselves to the rule of law,  saying that no amount of provocation would had made responsible youths destroy institutions that were working to protect them.

The police chief, who called on community heads to secure government facilities in their communities, said  this was the third police facility attacked since he assumed office as the commissioner of police in Imo State.
