Chief Olu Falae, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Minister of Finance, has said that those who oppose restructuring don’t understand what it means.
Falae stated this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
He said that restructuring would redistribute powers and responsibilities and resources among the various levels of government and communities in Nigeria.
He said, “If there are people who still oppose restructuring after all what happened in the last 30 years, it is because they don’t really understand what it means.

“Restructuring simply means Nigeria should return to the constitutional political arrangement, which served us well which brought us security and competitive development all over the country. There was security and stability, but which we lost as result of some changes in the constitution.
“It means we want to go back to what worked for us constitutionally. Nobody will say he does not want to go back to a better past that served well. It means redistributing powers and responsibilities and resources among the various levels of government and communities in Nigeria such that most people will be happy. They will have employment and be safe. I don’t think anybody will oppose that.”
