The military high command says its troops will not in any way tolerate both internal and external aggressions in Nigeria, insisting that its commitment to secure the country remains sacrosanct.

It also reiterated that it would continue to use both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches in addressing security issues ravaging the length and breadth of Nigeria in a bid to ensure the safety of every Nigerian.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, who stated these in his Eid el-Kabir message to Nigerians which he personally sent to Daily Trust, noted that all these have always been pursued against all odds.

“The core mandate of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) as enshrined in the constitution, is to protect the nation from external and internal aggressions. This we have been diligently committed to despite all odds,” the Defence Chief said.

The military chief assured Nigerians that the military would remain strong and committed to ensuring the restoration of peace and security in Nigeria and its environ.

“l therefore wish to call on all Nigerians to embrace peace, unity and love for one another. The labours of our past and present heroes must indeed not be in vain.

“Let me also stress that the Armed Force of Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians and therefore it’s important for everyone to continue to support their efforts to guarantee the future of our dear country.”

Musa thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support for the military in all ramifications, while pledging that he would continue to pilot the affairs of the military which is the pride of the nation in a right direction.
