A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has said that the party should have zero tolerance for impunity for it to reclaim its lead in Nigeria’s political terrain.

The former deputy national chairman of the party, now aspiring to become its national chairman, stated this yesterday in Gombe when his campaign train visited the state to convince delegates on his suitability.

He said the PDP needed a national chairman that would make its re-launch into prominence a reality.

He said the party this time around needed a national chairman that was totally democratic, all-embracing, accommodating and ready to encourage plural contribution to its growth and development.

Chief George noted that Gombe was a strong PDP state which had always been dogged and firm in its resistance to any intrusion of the Federal Government-led All Progressives Congress (APC).

In his short remark, the state Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Dore Jagafar, referred to George as “the most experienced, the most tested and proven of all the aspirants.”
