The Coalition of Civil Society for Good Governance (CCSGG) has called on political parties and critical stakeholders in the polity to support the need for power shift to the South in 2023.
Addressing a press conference at the weekend in Abuja, convener of the group, Okpanachi Jacob, said the organisation has come up with the #thenextpresident project which seeks to identify, project and support a competent presidential candidate of southern extraction in 2023.
“In achieving the unity, equity and political stability that we desire, there should be rotational presidency,” he said.
The group also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the Electoral Act Amendment Bill into law to guarantee credible elections in the country.
