Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno, and his Zamfara counterpart, Bello Matawalle, have cried out that terrorists are overrunning their states.

Bandits have abducted an unspecified number of traders in a convoy along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Highway.

Chief Ayo Adebanjo, leader of the Pan Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Wednesday countered former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying the oil in the Niger Delta does not belong to Nigeria.

Terrorists Overrunning Our States, Zulum, Matawalle Cry Out

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State and his Zamfara counterpart, Bello Matawalle, have cried out that terrorists are overrunning their states.

While Zulum said fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) would wreak havoc more than Boko Haram not only in Borno but in other parts of the country if not tackled, Matawalle said bandits were being released without trial by competent courts of law and that over 600,000 people are now IDPs.

Zulum Urges UN, Other Partners To Support Resettlement Of IDPs In Borno

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has appealed to the United Nations (UN) and development partners to work together to support the state government’s efforts to resettle the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at their ancestral homes with dignity.

The governor made the plea when he received the new UN Acting Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Nigeria, Matthias Schmale, during a courtesy visit on Wednesday at the Government House, Maiduguri.

Trader Feared Killed As Bandits Abduct Many In Kaduna

Bandits have abducted an unspecified number of traders when they attacked their convoy along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Highway.

It was gathered that one trader was feared killed by the bandits when they blocked the highway closed to Unguwar Yako Forest around 11am on Wednesday.

He backed the leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Clark, who had engaged in a war of words with Obasanjo over the latter’s declaration that the resources in the Niger Delta belonged to Nigeria.
