Top chieftains of the party including aspirants lamented that six weeks after February was fixed for the exercise, the caretaker committee under the leadership of the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has not commenced proper preparations for the exercise.
Gunmen Attack Passenger Boat In Bayelsa
Gunmen attacked a passenger boat in Bayelsa on New Year’s Eve. The boat, carrying 14 passengers left Yenagoa en-route Twon-Brass in Brass Local Government Area of the state when the gunmen struck.
They made away with the 115-horsepower Yamaha outboard engine of the boat and dispossessed the passengers of their valuables.

Details of his death are still sketchy but the elder statesman was said to have been ill for a while.

Presidency: All Aso Rock Visitors Will Undergo COVID Test
Visitors to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, are now required to take a rapid COVID-19 test before they are permitted to enter the seat of power, popularly known as Aso Rock, either to visit the President or any other official. Those affected are VIPs, including governors.
The new regulation, according to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, will require every visitor to compulsorily take the test free of charge at the entrance gates of the Villa.
