The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has granted research fund of over N30 million to the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai for critical research works.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Muhammad Nasir Maiturare said while receiving the executive members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger State Chapter, in his office that the fund was meant for research aimed at enhancing economic development of the state and the country.
Professor Maiturare said the research cut across fields of sciences, technology, education and humanities.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel, Comrade Aideloje Ojo lauded the pioneering role of the university, particularly on research areas that would contribute immensely to the development of humanity.
