The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, has said the recent upsurge in the activities of terrorists/bandits in parts of the country has resulted in the loss of lives and material resources stemming from daring attacks on villages, commuter roads and rail lines.
The COAS who spoke at the second quarter 2022 veterans affairs seminar organised by the Department of Administration, Army Headquarters, yesterday in Kaduna said the Nigerian Army under his watch had continued to review its operations for effective engagements against these enemies of the state.

Represented by the Chief of Administration (Army), Major General Usman Mohammed, the COAS called for the support of army veterans in their various communities.
He stressed that through the combined efforts of all Nigerians, especially deliberate collaborations between serving and retired personnel, the army would be better positioned to tackle the menace of insecurity.
A former Commander, Corps of Supply and Transportation, Major General Abubakar Gana, who was the special guest of honour urged the Nigerian Armed Forces to identify weaknesses in the system and address them in order to tackle the insecurity facing the country.
The GOC, 1 Division, Major General Kabir Muhktar, said the seminar was aimed at leveraging the veterans’ experiences in furtherance of Nigerian Army operations, especially insecurity.
