“Some people didn’t believe me, but now they do after the bandits abducted some residents inside the town. I have been talking about this issue, and now that things have escalated, even the bandits dare to enter the town not far away from the NAF base to kidnap people inside the main town, which has never happened,” he said.

He said the recent abduction happened in a community called Unguwar Gobirawa.

In response to the recent abduction, the council Chairman decided to impose a curfew on vehicular movement as a measure to monitor the movement of the bandits within and surrounding areas at night.
Mustapha Idris, the Adviser to the Chairman, confirmed the curfew, stating that it starts at 8:30 pm within the emirate.

“The curfew was implemented to monitor the movement of the bandits since they have started carrying out abductions inside the main town. It was not meant to add to people’s suffering but to protect the lives and properties of the people,” he said.

Idris also urged the residents to remain calm, assuring them that security agencies are doing everything possible to tackle the situation and protect their lives.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Jalige Mohammed, declined comments, saying he would contact  the Area commandant for details before commenting.
