Tension is brewing within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna has again adjourned the ruling of the parties primaries by a day.

Daily Trust reports that the one of the aggrieved party aspirants, Sani Sha’aban, filed a suit to seek an order granting leave to effect the service of the originating summons and all other processes in the matter on Uba Sani, who is the party’s governorship candidate.

Sha’aban is challenging the method used in the primary election that produced Sani.

He claimed that there was manipulation, alleging that the list of the delegates was substituted from the wards and local government.

Daily Trust reports that the ruling was to be delivered on Monday, 31st October, 2020, but was adjourned to Thursday.

It was, however, adjourned again by one day as the judgement was said not to be ready.

Our correspondent reports that the courtroom and the court premises were full to the brim with supporters as well as security agents, including men of the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Nigerian Police Force, ensured there was no breakdown of law and order.

There was, however, an incident with some supporters who insisted they be granted access into the court premises, forcing the police to open a can of tear gas to disperse the building crowd.

Speaking to journalists outside the court, counsel to the APC, Barrister Suleiman Shuaib, said, “We have just been informed by the registrar of the court that judgment will be delivered tomorrow (Friday).”

He, however, said that though no specific time was given, the court usually commences sitting by 9am.

Also, counsel to Sani Sha’aban, John Mshelia, said, “We came for judgement, as you are aware the case was adjourned from Monday to today for judgment but judgement is not ready again today.

“We are in a political season and there are a lot of political cases going on, you can imagine in this court alone there are more than 10 political cases and that is even a conservative estimate and one judge has to write all the decisions, We understand the pressure of work is too much hopefully, we are assured of judgement tomorrow (Friday).”
