A trader, Bolanle Wosilat, prayed an Idi-Ape Customary Court in Ibadan, to plead with her husband, Isaac Esuola, to forgive her and to stop the divorce proceedings.
Bolanle who knelt down and admitted that her husband had not lied by accusing her of irresponsible acts in the home, promised to her ways.
Earlier, Esuola, a businessman, who resides at E9/9126 beside Post Office, Academy, Iwo-Road, Ibadan, had accused her of irresponsible behaviour, which he claimed started six months into the marriage.
“She shouts and talks anyhow.”
“She won’t give me my food at the proper time, to the extent that I started buying food to eat outside and it’s affecting my health.”
“I accepted her with her two children from her previous marriage and I’ve been taking proper care of them, but she has refused to take care of me instead,” he said.
He further explained that she had not given him any child and it has been ”hellish” living with her.
A witness, Esuola’s business partner, told the court that he followed his friend when he went to report Bolanle to her mother, but that she was yet to change her ways as she promised back then.
The second witness, a sister to the husband, said Bolanle lacked respect and manners.
She described Bolanle as a woman wired to repay all the good she had received from her husband with evil.
Nevertheless, both witnesses agreed to speak to Esuola to have a rethink on divorcing his wife, provided Bolanle was indeed repentant.
The President of the court, Mr Moses Oyekanmi, then adjourned the case until April 30, to give room for possible resolution of the issue outside court. (NAN)
