An Ikeja chief magistrate’s court has ordered that a teenage boy be remanded in a juvenile home for allegedly fiddling with the breast of an 8-year-old girl.
The police told the court that the accused allegedly committed the offence at Afariogun Street, Oshodi area of Lagos where they resided.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emuerhi, told the court that the accused cornered the victim while hiding under the cover of darkness and started touching her breasts.
He said the accused was arrested after the victim raised alarm which attracted the attention of neighbours.
He said during interrogation, the accused said he was sexually aroused after watching a movie and that he found himself making love in his dream.
The accused’s plea was however not taken. The prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emuerhi, informed the court that the suspect was still a minor and asked the court to use its discretion to grant him bail.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered that the suspect be remanded at the home without allowing him to undergo any trial for the alleged offence.
