Tears as late mother of Daily Trust”s staff is buried

Tears flowed freely as the late Mrs Virginia Akor, former school teacher and then varsity worker, was at the weekend laid to rest in her country home, Iteh, Ibaji LGA of Kogi State.  

Earlier in a sermon during a requiem mass held at the St John’s Catholic Church, Iteh, Rev Anthony Abah described the late Mrs Akor as a dedicated Catholic and expressed the hope that she would be received by God into eternal  kingdom. Mrs. Virginia Akor died in Lokoja on 22nd November 2016.

Born in December 1956, she worked as a teacher at the community primary schools, Odomomoh and Akuro both in Ibaji LGA.

She also worked for 25 years at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State before she retired in 2013. The late Mrs Virginia hailed from Iteh village and is survived by five children, including Daily Trust’s health editor, Ojoma Akor.
