Teachers urged to take profession seriously

The head teacher, Grace and Gold School, Abuja, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aderinoye made the call during the school’s graduation and prize giving day held at the school premises recently.
She described teaching as a sensitive profession which is capable of making or marring the lives of students, stressing that the mistake in other profession can be corrected, but that of teachers is always irreparable.
Aderinoye who accused parents of spending more time in pursuit of money at the expense of their children, said such attitude would not only affect the academic performance of the children, but may truncate their future career.
She challenged the students to devote more time to their studies during the holidays than playing, as well as engage in learning certain basic skills so as to be self reliant later in life.
