The police in Gombe State have arrested a 38-year-old teacher, Abubakar Muhammed, for allegedly defiling four pupils who are sisters aged eight, nine, 12 and 14.
ASP Mahid Abubakar, the command’s spokesman, who disclosed this in a press statement, said the suspect was arrested on March 7, at about 11am following complaints from the pupils’ father who reported that the sexual assaults were committed between January and March, 2023.
He said, “The suspect who resides in Malam Inna Quarters, Gombe, committed the offence at the Islamiyya school located in the same community.”
He further stated that the suspect had confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.

In a related development, Abubakar said three suspects were arrested for defiling three sisters aged 12, 15 and 17.
He said the girls’ father, Aliyu Adamu, and a staff of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Gombe, Alhaji Abba, reported the cases to the police.
Abubakar said the suspects, Sani Adamu (50), Adamu Muhammed (40) and Bakura Muhammed (30), had confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.
