The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN), Enugu Depot, has threatened to shut down filling stations in Anambra State following over-taxation by the state government.
The Chairman of the Association, Mr Chinedu Anyaso, at the weekend in Awka, said they will shut down all filling stations if the state government refuses to review the over-taxation.

Shortly after he was re-elected to pilot the affairs of the association for a second term, Anyaso promised to work hard to ameliorate the difficulties members are facing in their businesses.
He said the challenge of over-taxation is highly prevalent in Anambra State, where the association’s agreement with the state government had not yielded any results.
Anyaso said that despite the agreement with the government, Anambra State Waste Management Agency (ASWAMA), signage officials, and Ocha Brigade officials are still coming to demand money, arrest and detain IPMAN members and their workers.
