Taskforce arrests 155 curfew violators,impounds 63 vehicles

A task force in Sokoto has arrested 155 people and impounded 63 vehicles, tricycles and motorcycles for violating curfew imposed in wake of Covid-19 in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer Sokoto Command ASP Muhammad Sadiq said the arrests were made  between May 5 and May 14 after a curfew was imposed between 8pm and 6am.

He said all cases were discreetly investigated as directed by the police commissioner before being charged to court.

“The CP reiterates that the Command is determined to enforce the curfew order to the latter and will therefore not hesitate to arrest and prosecute any individual or group of persons found violating the order,” Sadiq asserted.
