The authority of Taraba State University Jalingo is investigating the cause of the fire outbreak that claimed the life of a 100 level female student.
The chief information officer of the university, Sanusi Saad, told Daily Trust that the incident occurred Friday evening in one of the female hostels and claimed the life of the female student.

The 100 level student of Tourism was identified as Enuseh Lawi from Donga Local Government of Taraba State.
Lawi, it was learnt, was asleep when the fire started and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo where she died a few hours later due to severe burnt.
Many other students in the hostel were also injured and are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre Jalingo.
The chief information officer also revealed that the university has functional fire fighting vehicles while hostels and offices were provided with fire fighting equipment.
