Taraba relaxes curfew as Emir calls for calm

Taraba state government has relaxed curfew it imposed in the wake of violence that erupted in Jalingo and other towns in the state.

The government in an announcement relaxed the 24 hour curfew to 4pm to 6am daily.

Meanwhile the Emir of Muri, Alhaji Abbas Tafida has called on people in the Emirate to embrace peace and live in harmony with one another.

The Emir also condemned the attitude of some politicians who use children of common man to cause crisis to achieve their selfish interest.

According to him, such politicians keep their immediate family away from where they instigate crisis and allow innocent persons to be killed.

The Emir urged people in his domain to support the state government in order to restore normalcy in Jalingo and in all other places affected by the crisis.

Meanwhile many residents are leaving the town following the relax of the curfew.
