Taraba demands cabinet ministerial slot after Sale Mamman’s sack

All progressive Congress (APC) in Taraba State has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to give the state another ministerial slot in place of former Minister of power Sale Maman who was recently removed.
The state chairman of All Progressive Congress, Ibrahim El-Sudi, made the call while speaking with Daily Trust in Jalingo, Sunday.
He said Taraba deserved another ministerial slot and it should be a cabinet minister because the state is an APC state.
El-Sudi stated that APC gave president Buhari more than 45 percent votes during the last presidential election.
He added that going by the support APC supporters in Taraba gave President Buhari, the state has by all political consideration qualified for a cabinet ministerial slot.
The chairman, however, called on the current minister of power to concentrate more on executing Mambilla hydro power project, which the former minister failed to make inroads into.
He said something concrete has to be done in the execution of the hydropower project to convince Nigerians and people of Taraba State that President Buhari is serious and committed to the execution of the project.
“To Jubilate over somebody’s misfortune is not in our character, but, however, we want to see a difference in the execution of Mambilla hydropower project and we also want another ministerial slot to be given to Taraba,” he said.
Meanwhile, the former Minister and his supporters were absent at the  APC local government congress in the state.
