Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan for her victory at the Taraba governorship elections tribunal.
Senator Alhassan was the APC gubernatorial candidate in the last general elections which was nullified by a tribunal in Abuja on Saturday. The tribunal ordered the immediate swearing-in of Aisha.
The party through its Publicity Secretary, Auwal Jallah said that, her victory at the tribunal has ushered in, the first female governor in the country.
"On behalf of the Bauchi state APC chapter , we wish to extend our sincere happy and congratulatory delivery to APC Taraba chapter for the victory," the party stated.
It added that declaring Senator Alhassan as the winner of the governorship election is another plus and a hope that the judiciary is ready to uphold the tenets of democracy and the APC mantra of change and ensuring justice.
Senator Aisha Alhassan had challenged the declaration of Darius Ishaku of the PDP as the winner of the election at the tribunal.
The Taraba APC governorship candidate is also a ministerial nominee of President Muhammadu Buhari recently cleared by the senate.
