One person was killed and property, including vehicles, shops and a veterinary school, burnt yesterday morning when a fuel-laden tanker crashed and exploded at the Polo roundabout area in Jos North LGA of Plateau State.
The deceased, who was said to be the driver of the tanker, was discovered in a gutter near the scene of the incident.

The spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, who confirmed the incident, said the command was making effort to unravel the cause.
Witnesses said the tanker went up in flames soon after it crashed, adding that personnel of the state’s fire service and the police were deployed in the area.
Our correspondent gathered that the incident happened around 5am on Thursday when the tanker uncontrollably drove into a fuel station close to a veterinary school.
