Narrating the incident to Sunday Trust yesterday in Jos, tanker drivers, Salihu Hussaini, Magaji Sani, and Iliyasu Usman said, the road was blocked by their colleagues because a policeman shot one of the drivers to death.

In his own account of the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Plateau State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Lerama, denied that a policeman killed a driver, describing it as a blatant lie.

He said the police road block was there for a long period carrying out their legitimate duty of protecting lives and property on the road due to the number of armed robberies recorded in the road.

Speaking to Sunday Trust, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Saidu Badamasi,  said 10 people were involved in an  accident at the place. Five of them, he said, were critically injured. He accused a bus driver for causing the accident due to over speeding and careless overtaking of other vehicles
