Tambuwal to Nigerians: Send APC out of power with your PVCs

The Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has urged Nigerians to use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.

He stated this on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, during the inauguration of the PDP presidential campaign committee and campaign management committee in Ekiti state.

Tambuwal, who was represented by the PDP’s former national vice chairman (Southwest), Eddy Olafeso, said the APC had plunged Nigeria into numerous problems without solutions.

He urged the PDP members “to work for peace to defeat the monster called APC and its beneficiaries in the country.”

The acting chairman of Ekiti PDP presidential campaign council, Chief Ogundipe Makanjuola, called on party members and supporters to go out and galvanise support for the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who he described as “incoming president.

He said, “What is required is the unalloyed commitment to winning the presidential election in the next two months so that the PDP can revamp the battered economy of Nigeria.

“We have been handed a very strategic task, a very challenging assignment, but by the special grace of God, it is not insurmountable, we shall succeed.”

Daily Trust reports that the Ekiti PDP governorship candidate in the June 2022 election, Bisi Kolawole, who was named the chairman of the PCC, rejected the appointment.

Kolawole said the council’s membership comprised of Social Democratic Party members, who worked against PDP’s success in the governorship election and would still work against the success of PDP in the 2023 general elections.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement on Tuesday, said Atiku’s victory in the 2023 elections would shock many including Pollsters.

He said Atiku enjoys the support of majority of Nigerians who are not captured in the indices relied upon by many of the pollsters in their projections of the coming elections.

Ologbondiyan expressed optimism that Atiku would win the majority of lawful votes across the country and garner the constitutionally required 25% of votes in more than 24 states of the federation.
