The National body of Takad Youth Development Association (TYDA) in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State has elected new executives to steer its affairs for the next three years.
At the election, which took place at the Youth Centre in Fadan Attakar, in Kaura LGA, 116 delegates from 19 chapters were in attendance.
Declaring the result, the chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Gabriel Anyip, said Ashio Henry Ashio emerged chairman with 60 votes to defeat his opponent, Arc. Kuhiyep Yohanna, who scored 49 votes, while the remaining 20 executives were elected unopposed.
The newly elected chairman, Asholio Henry, urged his co-contestant and new executives to join hands in the development of the youths and Takad land.
He promised to build on his experience as peace ambassador to create room for dialogue between the locals and the Fulani herdsmen in the area for a lasting solution to the security challenges.
In his remark, the traditional ruler of Takad Chiefdom, Tobias Nkom Wada, commended the delegates for their peaceful conduct and tasked the new exco to see their emergence as a call to serve.
