Nabilah Kabir Ahmed is 20, from Jigawa State. The recent graduate of October 6 University in Cairo, Egypt spoke about what it means to be hard working in this interview.

How did you attain academic excellence in a foreign university?

I studied Radiography in the university. It is actually the first private university in the Arab Republic of Egypt and it has existed since 1996.

My academic success was quite great because I had to put in much work. I had to put in all the effort I could while staying focused and determined.

What were the initial issues you had adapting to your new environment?

My undergraduate days weren’t easy I must say, from getting used to the new environment to the language barrier. However it was fun but hectic as well. I had to strive to make it worth the while.

Did you have any challenge studying abroad?

I am a graduate of radiography, and my biggest challenge was the language barrier and having to study a lot. But as I said earlier, it was all worth it at the end.

What would be your greatest achievement in a short while?

I would like to improve on diagnosis and diagnostic systems by trying to make most of the x-ray and scanning machines. There is a need to make them more available nationwide and at an affordable price to people, this is what I strive for.

Do you have success secrets you would love to share with other youth?

Yeah there is, we the youth need to be more focused and determined and hopefully we would all get there. My advice to my fellow youth is that we need to put in work, like real work. We have to get up and chase our dreams as we are the future of the country.
