Residents of Yangoji community in Kwali Area Council have lamented over epileptic power supply at the community.
Some residents who spoke with Aso Chronicle, said the community which is located on the ever busy Abuja-Lokoja highway needed not to be left in darkness.
The district head of Yangoji, Alhaji Mohammed Biko Dogo, said lack of stable electricity in the area had continued to cripple socio-economic activities in the area.
He noted that the frequent power outages being experienced by residents in spite of the increasing population of people were quite worrisome.
He urged chairman of the council, Mr. Joseph Shazhin, to assist the community by liaising with the management of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), in order to address the issue so that residents of the area would not remain in total darkness.
He called on the chairman and other stakeholders to support Yangoji community by providing transformer that would help in boosting steady power supply at the community.
The district head also sought for the upgrade of some facilities, saying the school was also due for rehabilitation, considering the influx of people into the town given its location.
A pharmaceutical shop owner at the community, Mr. Emmanuel Ugwu, also said the challenge of electricity in Yangoji should be addressed by the authorities of the council.
According to him, the community hardly enjoys electricity for more than two hours, saying more measures should be taken to address the plight they are in due to the power outages.
