The workers had on Monday last week embarked on a protest over payment of half salaries by the chairman. Our reporter who was at the council secretariat in Isanlu observed that only security guards were at work. One of the workers told Daily Trust that the chairman had gone to the office since last week. He said the workers would not rest until there is equal treatment between them  and political office holders on salary payment, adding that the chairman, political office holders and councillors are receiving full salaries while workers are being paid half salaries.
Efforts to reach the chairman were not successful. But he had through the media adviser to the state ALGON, Ibrahim Obansa, denied being chased out of office, saying that he was in Abuja for official assignment.
The protest was said to be peaceful  but the workers decided to chase  the chairman out of office after inviting security operatives to disperse them from the premises and arrested the council’s NULGE chairman. After sacking the chairman from office the workers  took the protest around Isanlu town as well as the  house of  Chief Jide Omokore, a political leader in the area  said to have nominated the chairman for the position.
