The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai has enjoined personnel of the remodeled quarters comprising of 15 and 30 rooms in each block to ensure they maintain the building and avoid acts such as illegal connections and unauthorized modifications that would compromise its integrity and aesthetics.

He further charged soldiers of the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps (NAIC) to redouble their commitment and work assiduously within the context of his vision to ensure national security.

He gave the charge during the commissioning of remodeled/renovated quarters for personnel of NAIC and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) at Ribadu Cantonment on Monday in Kaduna.

Represented by the Director Military Intelligence, Major General Abubakar Tarfa, the CAOS said one key motivator and incentive for personnel of the Nigerian army to meet expectations for their constitutional roles is by providing a conducive environment to live.

He said, “It is my believe that one of the key motivators and incentive for personnel of the Nigerian Army to meet expectations of their constitutional roles is a conducive environment to live, it is not left for the personnel of the corps to redouble their commitment and work assiduously within the context of the my vision to ensure national security.

“The blocks were barely habitable and there were fears that the building could collapse at any time. In line with the vision of the COAS to have a professional responsive Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional role of which welfare is key component, I immediately approved funds for the complete renovation/remodeling of the building despite scare resources and competing demands.”
