Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has demanded N20 billion damages from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for placing him on watch list.
Fayose, whose tenure expires on October 15, said he still enjoyed constitutional immunity against any criminal proceedings.
He also demanded an apology from the EFCC to be published in three national newspapers and the social media.
He threatened to sue the EFCC if his demands were not met within 72 hours.
His Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said in a statement yesterday that the governor’s demands were contained in a letter by his counsel, Obafemi Adewale, dated September 3, 2018, which was received at the Abuja office of the EFCC yesterday.
