The Newspaper Vendors Association of Nigeria, Abuja has nominated some prominent citizens to be honoured in recognition of their contributions to the nation.
A statement by chairman of the association, Etim Iwara said the awardees were “carefully selected by a team of seasoned journalists and heads of non-governmental organizations.
Iwara said the awardees include; former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Senate President Bukola Saraki, governors Nasir El-Rufai and Tanko Al-Makura and the ministers of the FCT and information. There are also senators, and top public officials.
The award ceremony is scheduled for July 26 at the National Press Centre, Radio House, Abuja.
