Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi for the second time has been sacked by his Turkish club side, Denizlispor.

The Turkish League one club made the announcement on Saturday after reaching an agreement to end his contract for the second time.

Onazi signed for them in January 2021 but failed to make a single appearance.

“Our club has parted ways with our professional player Ogenyi Onazi by mutual agreement. The professional football division and our technical team decided to part ways with Onazi as a result of their evaluation.

“The player surrendered all his receivables from our club and was released by signing the mutual termination documents. We thank Onazi for his services so far and wish him success in his future career,” the club said in a statement.

Onazi first signed for the Club in 2019, but he was released after six months into the deal, no thanks to persistent injury.

The former Lazio man then moved to Denmark, where he signed for SønderjyskE, but he made just two appearances for the club in six months and was released.

The quest to continue with the round leather game led him to FK Žalgiris, Žalgiris Lithuania, where he had a good time — scoring two goals in 19 appearances and helping the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League playoff.
