The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has alleged the invasion of its national secretariat by “expelled members of the union”.
RTEAN Deputy President (Administration), Musa Muhammed, told journalists in Lagos, that the attack was led by a former RTEAN Edo State Chapter, Osakpamwan Eriyo and former Secretary General, Yusuf Ibrahim Adeniyi, both of whom he said had been expelled at various times by the union.
“Both Eriyo and Adeniyi have been expelled and had submitted petitions against the national president and myself to the Police Headquarters, Abuja, alleging that we have mismanaged the Union’s fund running into billion. The police had invited us and we have written our statements and investigation is on-going.
Attempts to get the reaction of Eriyo, however, proved abortive as repeated calls to his mobile phone number were neither answered nor the text message sent to him by our correspondent was replied.
