The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), has described the recent appointment of the Transition Committee Chairmen into 21 local government areas by the as a rape on the judiciary.
In a statement by the state publicity secretary, Okelo Madukaife, made available to newsmen, the APC said the state governor, Mr Willie Obiano was aware of a suit filed by APC local government candidates in the botched 2015 local government polls which was subsisting.
According to the statement, Section 208 of the 1999 Anambra State Local Government Act, which empowered the governor to appoint local government chairmen and enables the state house of assembly to approve them, was being challenged in a suit.
