Captain of the Kaduna Golf Club, Col. Ibrahim Biu has said the grand qualifying round of the Daily Trust President Cup which is holding in Kaduna has revived the Kaduna Gulf Club.
The Captain in his opening remarks at the tournament, said it is commendable for the Media Trust Ltd to have revived the President Cup after 12 years of inactivity.
“What we are witnessing is the tee-off for the qualifiers of the President Cup. For a long time, it was not been played, Daily Trust Newspapers decided to grab and hold the bull by its horn and decided to sponsor this after 12 years,” he said.
KGC Captain also thanked the Chairman and Managing Director of Daily Trust, Kabir Yusuf and Manir Dan Ali respectively, for choosing their club to host the semi finals.
He praised a member of the club’s Board of Trustees, Sir Lucky Omoluwa for “being a pillar to the club” and for chairing the event.
“To chair this occasion, nobody deserves it better. Everybody knows Sir Lucky Babatunde Omoluwa. Kaduna Golf Club is so lucky to have someone like him on its board of trustees.
“He got this invitation yesterday evening by 4:30pm and he said he was on his way, he arrived here exactly 8:30pm. If you look at Hole 7, he has taken over it and if you look at the club house, you will also see the signature of Sir Lucky Omoluwa who renovated it,” he added.
