The Nigerian Metrological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and rains over the Northern and Central cities, and cloudy to light rains over the Southern cities in the next 24hours.
Thus “thunderstorm is expected over Gusau, Sokoto and Yelwa axis in the morning hours leaving the rest of the axis in cloudy condition” NiMet forecast showed.
It also showed that “later in the day, thunderstorms are anticipated over the entire northern region in the afternoon/evening hours.”
The day and night temperature in the region values are expected to be in the ranges 29 – 32oC and 20 – 23oC respectively. On the central states, rains are expected over Abuja, Minna, Ilorin and Bida axis in the morning hours.
“As the day progresses, chances of thunderstorms/rains are expected over the entire central region during the afternoon/evening period Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 25 – 33oC and 17 – 24oC” NiMet said.
The southern states too will experience cloudy conditions especially over the inland and the coast in the morning hours with chances of light rains in the afternoon/evening period.
Day and Night temperature values for the south are expected to be in the range of 28- 30oC and 22 – 24oC respectively.
